While we mostly promote Evins Mill as a place for adults to enjoy, the fact is - it's a pretty cool place for kids too - and on the evenings listed below, it can also be a complimentary place for school-age children, who in many cases will soon be out on Fall Break.

Northfield Wine Tasting ~ Sat, Jul 20, '19

In conjunction with Northfield Vineyards in adjacent White County, Evins Mill is hosting a wine tasting on Saturday, July 20. Beginning at 6:00, Mark Ray of Northfield will discuss the history of his winery and sample many Northfield wines.

The tasting will be paired with an assortment of appetizers and followed at 7:00 by a gourmet buffet dinner prepared by our own Chef Evans, who has crafted a menu to compliment the tasting...

Kenny's Cheese Tasting ~ Sat, Jul 13, '19


We're big fans of Kentucky-based Kenny's Cheese, which produces some of the best cheese around, is a major source of the cheese we serve, and is a favorite among our guests and staff alike! As such, we're pleased to host our second in as many years Kenny's Cheese Tasting on Sat, July 13.

The event begins with a 6:00 p.m. social hour, when Kenny's Cheese proprietors Kenny & Barbara will mix and mingle with guests, share the story of their farm, and sample a variety of their cheeses. A festive, Kenny's Cheese-inspired dinner will follow and will feature....

Bluegrass Cookout ~ Sat, Jul 6, '19

On Friday & Saturday, July 5 & 6, 2019, the town of Smithville hosts the Fiddlers' Jamboree & Craft Festival, one of country's premier bluegrass music competitions. Just a few minutes from the Dekalb County Courthouse, where the hoedown takes place, Evins Mill is a convenient springboard for the festival - as well as a cool escape from the heat, and a relaxing destination for great meals and overnight accommodations.

To that end, the resort is hosting its own annual Bluegrass Cookout from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. that same Saturday. Appetizers are available as early as 6:00 p.m. As always, guests are invited to arrive early and enjoy a stroll to Carmac Falls or a game of pool at Cortland Hall.
