On Saturday, August 30, 2025, Evins Mill hosts its annual Labor Day Cookout. Hors d'oeuvres are available as early as 6:00 while the cookout begins at 7:00. Guests are invited to book a room or make reservations for dinner-only. Whether you stay over or come just for dinner, come with an appetite, for the menu as always is as expansive as it will be tasty...

• grilled wagyu flank steak
• smoked Atlantic salmon
• barbecued baby back ribs

Sides

• roasted sweet potatoes
• corn casserole
• fresh, seasonal sides and salads

• caramel apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream

Summer Family Special ~ thru July, '25

 

While we usually promote Evins Mill as a place for adults, business groups and special events, the fact is it's a pretty cool place for kids too. And from now until the end of July as part of our Summer Family Special, it is also complimentary for high school age children and younger on any Enchanted Night.

For families remaining close to home this summer but looking for local adventure, Evins Mill features a variety of family-friendly activities, including...

• self-guided hikes to the overlooks and base of Carmac Falls
• lawn games, including corn hole, ring toss, horse shoes & ladder golf
• game hall, including billiards, ping pong, darts, and Foosball
• a wide variety of board games and puzzles
• streaming service for after-dinner in-room entertainment

Bluegrass Cookout ~ Sat, Jul 5, 2025

On Friday & Saturday, July 4 & 5, the town of Smithville hosts the 54th Annual Fiddlers' Jamboree, one of country's premier bluegrass music competitions. Just a few minutes from the Dekalb County Courthouse where the hoedown takes place, Evins Mill is a convenient springboard for the festival - as well as a cool escape from the heat - and a relaxing destination for great meals, outdoor adventure, and overnight accommodations.

To that end, the resort is hosting its own annual Bluegrass Cookout from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. that same Saturday. Appetizers are available as early as 6:00 p.m. Guests are invited to book a room or make reservations for dinner-only. In a salute to mothers and all women who give us strength, we are hosting our first Mother's Day Special on Saturday, May 10, when we invite families to treat their matriarch not just to brunch, but to an extended respite from maternal responsibilities the night before. As part of this special, a family of up to five may stay for the price of one couple.

That stay includes appetizers, dinner, and s'mores around our firepit Saturday night, followed by our storied Mother's Day Bunch the next morning. As always, our chefs will prepare for special dietary restrictions, including kid-friendly dinners.

Mother's Day Brunch, Sun, May 11, '25

Evins Mill is hosting its annual Mother's Day Brunch on Sunday, May 11. The buffet, carving & desserts stations are available from 10:30 to 1:30, with seatings scheduled in half hour intervals. 

Luncheon attire is "dressy casual," though we invite guests to bring a change of clothes and stick around should they want to hike to Carmac Falls. Hiking shoes or not, come with an appetite, for as always the menu is extensive...
