Plantings & Pickers Fusion ~ Sat, Nov 11, '17

On Saturday, November 11, Evins Mill is hosting a double-header of sorts - two fun and back-to-back events that share no natural connection other than they're both going to be informative and entertaining - and involve popular and locally-sourced attractions - native plants & distilled spirits.

The fun starts with our first-ever guided tour of the varied flora at the resort's landscaped areas, which include a variety of laurels, abelias & red buds, as well azeleas, rhododendrons, junipers and much more. While all plants & shrubs were selected by Evins Mill Landscaper-in-Residence Eden Cochran, the presentation & tour, which will go from 3:30 to 5:00, will be led by local nurseryman Bert Driver of Bert Driver Nursery, which has advised Evins Mill on and provided it with much of its plantings.

The fun continues with our first-ever Pickers Vodka tasting, hosted from 6:00 to 7:00 by Nashville-based SpeakEasy Distillery and featuring several flavors of their popular Picker's Vodka. Chef Evans will prepare heavy hors d'oeuvres to compliment the tasting, not to mention a scrumptious four-course dinner to follow.

The Plantings & Pickers Package includes...
  • guided tour of landscaped & natural flora at the resort
  • Pickers vodka tasting paired with heavy hors d'oeuvres
  • four-course dinner
  • Saturday night accommodations
  • full breakfast with eggs-to-order
  • gourmet sack lunch
  • unlimited access to non-alcoholic beverages
  • exclusive access to the resort's 40-acre property
...and is $325 to $395 per couple depending on the room. The tour-tasting-dinner-only package is $60/guest. Sodas, bottled waters & alcoholic beverages are available but not included (vodka tasting aside).
