Moonshine Tasting ~ Sat, Dec 14, 2013

Evins Mill is hosting its first ever moonshine tasting on Saturday, December 14. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., guest will be treated to samples of authentic small-batch Tennessee moonshine from Short Mountain Distillery, a 300-acre working farm in adjacent Cannon County - and one of only a handful of licensed moonshine distilleries in the state. 

The tasting will feature appetizers paired and prepared by Chef Evans just for the occasion. Led by Master Distiller Billy Kaufman, the tasting will be followed at 7:00 p.m. by a "Moonshine" dinner, featuring an Apple Streusel dessert, topped with Short Mountain Moonshine, local honey caramel.

  • Short Mountain Consomme, garnished with a brunoise of local turnip

  • Fresh Grapefruit w/ a creamy watercress dressing
Entrees
  • Stuffed Pork Loin with apples, dried fruit, brown sugar & spices
  • Citrus Braised Duck Breast with a fresh cranberry, jalapeno relish
Dessert
  • Apple Streusel with vanilla ice cream, made with fresh Arkansas black apples & Short Mountain Moonshine, local honey caramel
