Moonshine Tasting ~ Sat, Dec 14, 2013

Evins Mill is hosting its first ever moonshine tasting on Saturday, December 14. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., guest will be treated to samples of authentic small-batch Tennessee moonshine from Short Mountain Distillery, a 300-acre working farm in adjacent Cannon County - and one of only a handful of licensed moonshine distilleries in the state. 

The tasting will feature appetizers paired and prepared by Chef Evans just for the occasion. Led by Master Distiller Billy Kaufman, the tasting will be followed at 7:00 p.m. by a "Moonshine" dinner, featuring an Apple Streusel dessert, topped with Short Mountain Moonshine, local honey caramel.

Women's Learning Retreat ~ Sat, Sep 14, 2013


The Opening Retreat for Thelma Kidd's 2013-2014 Women's Learning Community will be hosted at Evins Mill on September 14-15. This nine-month program is designed for a group of eight women who are ready to contemplate their own lives. 

Following the September retreat, the group will meet together monthly in Nashville for the purpose of clarifying direction and enriching their lives through self-reflection, meaningful connections, and creative learning.

On Saturday, July 6, 2013, the sleepy town of Smithville will host the Annual Fiddlers' Jamboree & Craft Festival, one of country's premier bluegrass competitions. Music at the Mill ~ Tim Buppert on May 11th


On Saturday, May 11 at 8:00 p.m., Evins Mill continues its "Music at the Mill" concert series with another intimate evening of acoustic music featuring accomplished singer-songwriter Tim Buppert.

Having written songs and/or sung them on albums for Trisha Yearwood, Michael Peterson and Kevin Sharp among other well-known artists, Tim has several top ten songs to his name and will be performing them and others in an informal, writer-in-the-round format.

The dinner-concert package includes appetizers, a four-course dinner, non-alcoholic beverages & the concert of course and is $120/couple. The overnight package includes the same but also overnight accommodations and breakfast the next morning and is $295 to $355 per couple depending on the room.
